13 Feb 2018

Glendale is celebrating after collecting an award which recognises the accomplishments of businesses operating within the landscaping industry.

The national green services supplier was awarded the accolade in the Apprenticeship Scheme category of industry magazine Pro Landscaper's inaugural Business Awards.

A judging panel described Glendale's scheme as diverse and all-encompassing, with an ongoing commitment to training and development at all levels, regardless of age, sex or disadvantage.

The company had also been shortlisted in the Grounds Maintenance category of the awards.  Other categories included Industry Partnership, Supplier, Commercial Landscape Company and Garden Designer.

Glendale is a member of The 5% Club which is designed to get the UK's public and private sector companies to commit to having five percent of its total workforce as apprentices, sponsored students or graduates within five years.

Mike Brunskill, managing director for the north at Glendale, said: "We're thrilled to have won this award in acknowledgement of our work in relation to apprenticeships, as we're committed to being at the forefront of creating opportunities for apprentices in the industry and upskilling the next generation of green services professionals."

Glendale picked up the award at a ceremony held at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf.
