EU-OSHA is amongst the 15 associate members of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the world’s largest support network for small and medium sized businesses (SMEs).

EEN manages a database of business opportunities helping SMEs innovate and grow internationally. As an associate member, EU-OSHA contributes to the improvement of occupational safety and health in SMEs’ workplaces.

The Network already has 3,000 experts across 600 member organisations in more than 60 countries. Member organisations include chambers of commerce and industry, technology centres, and research institutes.

On the face of it you might think that there is strong compulsion to undertake health and safety training. Several regulations require a certain level of training, qualifications and/or competence to undertake tasks: Radiation protection, gas fitting, mining, diving, driving a car. Health and safety training is of course a legal requirement under section 2(2)(c) of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act, Regulation 13 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
