Keeping security high and litter low at a museum in London

We’ve recently worked with Total Support Services, the facilities contractor for the Natural History Museum in London, and designed eight bespoke glass fibre composite litter bins with transparent panels on the doors.
We designed this new product based on our standard LBV/20 litter bin; the museum favoured its traditional design but required an extra level of security.
The LBV/20 Transparent Litter Bin is manufactured with a glass fibre composite frame and polyethylene panels, offering a stylish and secure unit that will never rust.
The transparent polyethylene panels make the contents of the bin visible, providing an extra level of safety and security for the museum. These transparent panels allow any suspect items to be easily identified and removed.
A large aperture to each side maximises the 120 litre capacity, ideal for busy environments such as shopping centres and tourist attractions. The large capacity makes this bin ideal for areas where it may be difficult to empty on a regular basis.
The internal liner is manufactured from polycarbonate, meaning it is lightweight enough to be pulled out and emptied with ease using the exterior handle.
Glass fibre composite is completely unaffected by extreme weather conditions, which makes these units ideal for coastal towns. The high impact strength of glass fibre also makes this litter bin vandal resistant and has a low carbon footprint due to the longevity of the product.
