Little Green Button is bringing the argument clinic to Safety and Health Expo 2016!

13 Jun 2016

If you see an argument breaking out at the Safety and Health Expo 2016, you might not need to call security right away! Little Green Button, the original panic button software, will be making an example of itself in dramatic style...

The software company is celebrating its rebrand and the launch of its new-look website by inviting visitors to the Little Green Button stand to have an argument. In homage to the classic Monty Python Argument Clinic sketch, visitors with something to get off their chest can donate £1 for a two-minute argument with actors primed in the art of aggravation.

Mark Overton, Director at Little Green Button, explains more:

“The aim is to raise awareness of Little Green Button and to demonstrate how early intervention can prevent a minor disagreement spiralling out of control. It’s a serious message, but we don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a bit of fun along the way.”

The software enables workers who are facing members of the public, or working in a potentially volatile one-to-one environment, to unobtrusively call for help from colleagues nearby. A double click on the desktop icon and all colleagues on the same network receive a request for help; a call for company, so to speak. The most appropriate person can then gently intervene and help diffuse the situation. Mark continues:

“The software has proved a huge success to date with over 50,000 active users, primarily in the healthcare sector. We’re keen to reach new markets, such as social housing and local government, who we believe have a lot to gain by making their staff feel better protected. Our rebrand marks the beginning of this new era for Little Green Button.”

All proceeds are going to the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, a charity which Little Green Button is proud to support. The Trust works to reduce the risk of violence and aggression for everyone in society through educating people about the risks in their everyday lives and sharing information on how to take steps to avoid or manage them.

However, please be warned. If the argument appears to be going on longer than two minutes, or if things regress to fistycuffs, it might be a genuine disagreement, so call security. Or press a Little Green Button to summon back up!
