StairSpan Case Study - New Zealand

- Our client contacted Oxford Safety Components at the beginning of November 2019 and hired 75 x mats for a trial.

- A week later the 75 x mats were delivered and training was provided to operatives on site § §After a successful 4 week trial, they placed an order to cover several sites in Scotland.

- The project is ongoing, Oxford Safety Components continue to receive orders from sites in Scotland and across the rest of the country

•The New Concertina Pit Protect can be installed by the customer or Oxford Safety; on this occasion due to the close location, we went out to perform a site survey to evaluate how to best accommodate the client. 

•A quote for two pits, each measuring 13m, was requested. However, during the survey it was found that the two pits were joined at each end via access tunnels; meaning no support for the covers at either end. 

•As a solution, Oxford Safety Components suggested they use a chequer plate at each end, this not only helped the client to continue keeping staff safe, but also resulted in a reduced number of covers being needed, leaving the final measurements at 11m per pit, saving the client money.

• They had previously bought some CoverSafe Sparks from us before and had decided to go ahead and order a larger amount, as they found them very useful as an access platform and fall prevention system when installing fire barriers in attics/roof voids.

• This is a great example of how the customer can often make us aware of sectors we previously hadn’t thought our products would apply to.
